Week 6 - Macro

This week we focused on macro photography which was very fun and i learnt heaps of useful hints. Unfortunately i cannot show the photos that we took because andrew lost his memory card containing the images (if we can recover the images i will post them).

We shot one photo of a stamp with a DSLR and one of a watch with the Hasselblad. This is the info from the shot including calculations for Macro tubes.

Shot 1 : Watch Shot 2 : Stamp
Magnification Factor 0.5x or 1:2 1x or 1:1
Camera Hasselblad H3d2 5d M11
Sensor Size mm 33.1 x 44.2 36 x 24
Lens focal length 80mm 90mm Macro
ISO 100 100
Extension Tubes Yes No
Focal Distance 120 180
Bellows Extension 2.25 4
Stops Increased 1 2
Light reading N/A 2.8f 1/8 sec
Adjusted Exposure N/A 2.8f 1 sec

As you can see we did not achieve the light reading or Adjusted exposure for the watch as we ran out of tim due to yet another Hasselblad failure and waiting for our extension tubes from other groups. We did achieve fairly well done stamp and watch photos that i was quite happy with even though we ran out of time.

It was a great workshop and will be very useful in the future. I am still a bit sloppy with the Calculations but just need some more practice.
